Today we mourn a great American, and a wonderful man, John Lewis. A prominent member of the Civil Rights movement and a distinguished member of Congress. Let us examine his legacy and try and learn from him what we can.

The conflicting ways that we see history guide much of what our politics looks like today. We need to embrace symbols that unify our country because our history is all we have.
